To Liv and Paul's extended family; I send my deepest sympathies in his passing. Though I had the privilege of working with Paul at Riverside AFSS for only a short time I witnessed what it is to be a person of principal and honesty and I am a better person for this example. My prayers go with you all, for Heaven's gain is truly earth's loss.

Paul was a good and honest man and I enjoyed working with him. His dry sense of humor, and ready smile and laughter, brightened the workplace, and made the daily grind a little easier to bear. The one thing that I will always remember about Paul, is that he readily gave his beautiful wife, Liv, credit for his successes in life. A truly humble and kind man, it was an honor to know him.

Paul was my cousin and we were almost the same age--only about 4 months apart. We never lived close but we have managed to stay connected. I remember getting together at our grandparents farm when we were little. We played together and played with our aunt and uncle who were only a few years older than us. Those days have a warm spot in my heart. Life changed as we grew up and our lives took different directions. But in 1962 we met Paul and his beautiful new bride, Liv, in Frankfurt, Germany as they were moving back to the USA. Our paths crossed again in 1975 when we visited Paul, Liv, Jackie and Cheryl in Wiesbadden, Germany. Our kids and theirs hit it off really well. Our son said very recently, "I liked Paul and Liv's girls. They were really nice." In the late 1980's we lived near San Fransicso and got to see Paul and his family in San Bernardino and they visited us up north. We even got to attend the girl's weddings. What a joy! We moved from CA to TX and Paul and Liv came out to visit with us in the early 1990's. That was good fun. We saw them again in 1998 as we traveled from WA to Houston via San Bernardino. Several months ago, I told my husband, Charles, that I really wanted to see Paul. We got out there in October 2012 and when I saw Paul I knew that he was not well enough for a very long visit, but we thoroughly enjoyed the time we did get to spend with him and Liv. It broke my heart to say goodbye! In fact, it has taken these many days for my emotions to settle enough to write this. We had so hoped for a cure, but we look forward to seeing him in heaven! I am so sorry for your loss. Paul was a wonderful man that I had the honor to meet through our Air Traffic Control days. My thoughts and prayers go out for all of you. I hope you will be able to find peace soon.
