Paul Bowen Miller's Obituary
Paul Bowen Miller, 84, of Glendora, CA. passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Rancho Mirage, CA. Paul was born in Spanish Fork, Utah on April 8, 1927 to William and Maud Bowen Miller. He married Darlene Daniels October 27, 1950. The marriage was later solomnized on the 22nd of May, 1955 in the Los Angeles L.D.S. Temple.
Paul was a veteran of W.W. II, serving as a Navy Medic with the Marines in the South Pacific. He took Part in the Battle of Okinawa and was part of the first occupation troops in Japan. He also served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict.
Paul graduated from Brigham Young University. He received his master’s degree in education and administration from CA State University Los Angeles. He was a teacher and elementary school Principal in the Glendora School District for 37 years.
Paul was dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He taught in the Sunday School Priesthood. He served as the Ward and Stake Sunday School President, the young men’s President, Bishop’s Exc. Sec; High Counselor and Bishop.
Paul was an outstanding athletic in baseball and basketball. He loved to play golf.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene of 55 years. Survived by his 3 sons, Douglas of Palm Desert, Scott of Chicago and Marc of Highland, brother, William of Salt Lake City, UT, sister, Shirley Creer of Springville, UT, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 120 N. Oakbank Drive, Glendora, CA. Visitation will be 1 hour prior in the Relief Society Room. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Spanish Fork Cemetery, Spanish Fork, UT.
