Ollie Emma Strong's Obituary
Ollie Strong entered Heaven on March 27, 2017. She was born on October 16, 1920 to Bill and Ethel Berdine in Phillipsburg County, Kansas. She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Strong, on June 1, 1940. They shared 61 years together.
She taught 30 years as an elementary school teacher for the San Bernardino City Unified School District. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, the Women’s Club of San Bernardino and the California Teachers Association. In her retirement years, she volunteered for the St Bernardine’s Hospital Auxiliary. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling all over the world.
Ollie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Francis Berdine, as well as her husband Ray. Survivors include her two sons, Darrell and Denney(Nancy) Strong, 2 granddaughters, Kimberly(Mark) Atmore, and Joanna(Rick) Branson and 3 great grandchildren, Nick and Sam Atmore and Kimberly Branson.
Ollie lived in San Bernardino since 1947 and she loved this city and her many friends here. Services will be held on Thursday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery 570 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino.
