MITSUE "MITZI" - BASINI's Obituary
Mitsue “Mitzi” Basini of San Bernardino, passed away at St Bernardine Medical Center on December 2, 2007 at the age of 81. Born in Kawasaki, Japan, Mitzi lived in San Bernardino County for 32 years. She was a longtime member of the Emblem Club at the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, San Bernardino Lodge, the NCO Wives’ Club and The Ladies of Columbus Society (Treasurer for over eight years). Mitzi was an avid Ballroom dancer winning many competitions. She worked for the May Company since 1975 and retired in August of 1991 from that same company. Mitzi was a sweet, loving lady with a giving, sweet heart. She was very caring and was always thinking positively about people. She was an eternal optimist. Though she was a little lady, Mitzi was “Small & Mighty”. Mitzi was preceded in death by her husband Ben Basini, she is survived by: her daughter, Bobbie Basini, granddaughter Laura Evangelista (John) and great granddaugther Gianna Evangelista as well as her brother Toichi Osada, sister Haruko Kondo, 3 nieces, and her long time loving companion, John McCance and his two boys Daryl and Dan whom she considered “Special Sons”. Visitation for Mitzi will be at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel on Thursday, December 6, 2007 from 2~7pm with a Prayer Vigil at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 10:00 am at the Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church on Del Rosa. Interment will follow at the Riverside National Cemetery Staging area #1 at 12:01 pm.
