MILTON LESTER HALLSTEN, 89
Passed away peacefully at home the morning of Tuesday November 16th after living a full, rich happy life. A resident of San Bernardino since 1949, he leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years, Marjorie, two daughters, Kristine and son-in-law, Jim Abrams of Orinda, California and Susan Vroom of Dallas, Texas, also grandchildren, Aaron Mead, wife Lori and Anne Johnson, husband, Bill and great grandchildren, Lucas and Blythe.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 4th, 1921 and at the age of 5 was an adventurous passenger in a Model T Ford car driving from Chicago to their new ranch home in Kingsburg, California along with his family of brothers and sisters, Eileen, Bertil and Ted. Younger sister, Ruth and brother, Harold were born later in Kingsburg.
Milton was a graduate of University of California Berkeley and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He later managed operations for the Elliott Precision Block Co. in San Bernardino until his retirement in 1986.
“Milty” will be remembered for his unfailing wit, sense of humor and gentle spirit by all who knew him. He loved his family above all else and those times spent with them were his happiest.
A celebration of his life is planned for a later date at the family ranch in Kingsburg, Calif.
