Dear Mary and Family,
Please accept our sympathy on the passing of Mike (Manoli). He was a very dear and close friend to Greg’s parents, Anna and Kosta and did so many wonderful things for them, for St. Prophet Elias, and for many of the parishoners and friends at church.
I don’t know if Mike ever shared with you but he did a lot of research for us when our daughter had brain cancer. It was Mike who put us in touch with the renowned neurosurgeon in Chicago who had a conference call with us on a Sunday to discuss our daughter’s case. Mike encouraged us to get all of the MRIs, Scans, etc. together and sent
to the neurosurgeon to have so he could study them before our conference call. That is just one example of his kindness, and I know if you asked everyone who knew him, they would each come up with many examples. People like Mike are rare today, who put themselves on hold to help others. It didn’t matter what needed fixing or where his expertise was needed, he was always there ready and willing to help.
Additionally, and on a lighter note Mike/Theo Manoli would drop by often at Anna and Kosta’s home where our girls spent a lot of time and surprise them with all the characters that came with the Mc Donald lunches. They so looked forward to his visits.
We know in our heart that God has a special place for Mike close to him.
May his memory be eternal, and may all the wonderful memories of Mike comfort you and bring you the peace that surpasses all understanding.
We send our love, hugs, and prayers.
Sincerely,
Vassie & Greg Kyritsis
