MERLE V. LOCKRIDGE's Obituary
Merle V. Lockridge passed away on January 7, 2007 at the age of 82 in Yucaipa. Merle was born in Mansfield, Lousiana on July 14, 1924. After her marriage to husband Rex they relocated to Southern California in 1945. Most of her married life was spent in Rialto. Merle was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church in Rialto. Merle also was a member of the Rialto Women’s Club. She loved playing cards with her good friends at the Rialto Historical Society on Thursdays. When Merle moved to Yucaipa in 2001 she became a member of the Yucaipa Methodist Church. Merle was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband Rex Lockridge. She is survived by her daughter Diana Soren and son in law Jim Soren of Forest Falls. She is also survived by two grandsons and three great-grandchildren. Grandson Scott Soren and his wife Suzie, great-grandchildren Courtney and Kyle of Riverside and grandson Steven Soren, his wife Shannon and great-grandson Tyler of Cherry Valley. Merle was affectionately known to her Grandsons as “Pie” and to her great-grandchildren as “G,G, Pire” short for “Sweetie Pie” The greatest joy in Merle’s life was her family and friends and she loved us all unconditionally. She will be greatly missed by those touched by her life. She will remain forever in our hearts. The family would like to thank Loma Linda University Medical Center and Home Health Care, Braswell’s Hampton Manor in Yucaipa and Cornerstone Hospice in Colton for their compassionate care. Services will be held at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, Friday, January 12 at 1:00 p.m.
