MERLE FRANCIS FARREN, JR.'s Obituary
Merle Francis (Buzz) Farren, 79, of San Bernardino, passed away March 21 from complications of Alzheimers disease.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., he graduated from the University of Evansville and is a U.S. Army veteran.
He was executive Vice President of Republic Van Lines in Maryland. He owned Atlas Inland Moving and Storage in San Bernardino, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of The San Bernardino Chamber of Commerce and served on The City’s Civil Service Commission. He also was an active participant in many charitable organizations in San Bernardino.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eileen; his son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Mary Lou Farren of Canoga Park; daughter, Julie Farren of San Bernardino; sister, Audrey (Ralph) Verdu and brother, John (Martha) Farren all of Pa.
A reception will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 29 (Sat.) at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave... In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan, Fl. 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601.
