Maxine Nelson's Obituary
Maxine, 103, a 77-year resident of San Bernardino, died May 6, 2025.
Born in Huntington, Indiana, to Ray and Loretta Sephel, of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Maxine graduated from Saint Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1945, shortly after, she met Arthur Nelson who she married in 1948, the couple moved to San Bernardino, in 1949. Maxine was employed by San Bernardino Community Hospital for 30 years, retiring in 1989. Art & Max attended 10 United States Marine Corp reunions across the United States, and enjoyed 3 cruises.
When Arthur passed away in 1996, Maxine took up bowling, where she was an avid player for 17 years, until 93 years old.
She loved the theater.
Maxine leaves behind her son; Brian (Beverly) of San Bernardino, daughter; Karen Lang, of Coeur d'Alene. Idaho. She is preceded in death by her son; Wayne Nelson, two grandchildren as well as 4 great-grandchildren.
She was blessed with a lifetime of good health. a blessed mother who loved her family and her baseball.
