Mary Jane Wilson's Obituary
Mary Jane Wilson, 84, passed away on August 2nd, 2018, at the home of her daughter, Judith Karos. She Slipped into God’s embrace peacefully, surrounded by her children and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Eugene Wilson, her son, Richard Daniel, her brother, Paul Minner, and her cat of 22 years, Tigger. She is survived by her brother, Leo Minner; by sons, Thomas (Barbara), Michael (Charolette), John(Pam), David( Barbara); By daughters, Mary Patricia Hedstrom(Tony), Ann-Monica Wilson. Judith Karos (Thomas); Sixteen Grandchildren and sixteen Great- Grandchildren, all of whom she was especially fond of; By her brother-in-law, Kevin Wilson. Mary Jane Wilson was born on January 15th, 1934 in the state of New York, to parents Albert and Monica Minner. Always driven and intelligent, she received valedictorian status at Gowanda high school. Mary Jane completed her education in nursing at D’youville college in Buffalo, New York, and would go on to assist those in need as a registered nurse for 45 years in both hospitals and school settings. In 1959, she married the man that she truly loved, Richard Eugene Wilson, with whom she had a fulfilling and affectionate life with. She would give birth to eight loving children.
Her hobbies in life included Cross-stitching and sewing, which she often dedicated and gifted to loved ones. She was also a pious woman, deeply devoted to her relationship with God and the church. For 51 years, Mary Jane attended the church of St. Anne’s, participating in the church’s functions and taking a guiding role in some of its charity work, where she met many lifelong friends and acquaintances.
Mary Jane Wilson was a radiant hearth of love, friendship, and charity to all that knew her. She was a role-model and matriarch to her family, guiding them along the path she knew was right. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation and Rosary will take place on August 6th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Rosary at 7:00 pm,
