Mary and her siblings attended the old San Juan Capistrano Mission School and she graduated in 1950 from San Juan Capistrano High School. Military life took their family from California to Illinois to England, back to Illinois and finally back to Highland, CA. Mary worked many years in civil services positions at Norton AFB, primarily TRW. She had a successful business with many loyal customers and several devoted employees.
Her nest endeavor would see her returning to school. She graduated from San Bernardino Valley College with an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development. She spent the next several years teaching pre school children of students at SBVC and served as mentor to those parents. She loved children. She also taught Religious Education for years to children of the San Manuel Band of Serrano Indians.
After almost 25 years Mary and Don Kluge’s marriage ended. After her 50th High School Reunion, Mary rekindled a relationship with her high school sweetheart, Lyman Weaver.
