MARY "SONJA" SIMON's Obituary
Mary “Sonja” Simon, 65, passed away in Riverside, CA on September 12, 2008. Originally from Liberty, TX, Sonja moved with her family to the Inland Empire in the mid 1960’s. She was a Special Needs Teacher’s Assistant with the San Bernardino School District for over 20 years.
Sonja was a member of the American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary (Lodge 710) for over 20 years. She was also a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in San Bernardino.
She was preceded in death by her brother Otis Alexander.
Sonja is survived by her daughters Tonya Davis and Nicole Green, both of Riverside, CA; Tami Green of Highland, CA; Uhura Green of Florida; her son Troy Simon and her brother Hayward Simon of Palm Springs, CA.
Also surviving her are her 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, many nieces, nephews and good friends. A visitation will be held Thursday September 18th from 5 – 7 p.m. followed by a service on Friday September 19th at 10:00 a.m. both at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA 92404.
Interment will be private.
