Martin Matich's death has robbed us of a true "giant." His death came as Jews commenced the annual observance of Passover. At the Passover Seder we sing a song which has as its refrain: Dayenu - It would have been enough.
We recall God's many blessings. Any one of them would have: Dayenu - Enough. In that spirit:
Had Martin only have led Matich Corporation as the preeminent construction firm of our area - Dayenu.
Had Martin only been the founder and leader of Inland Action, St. Bernardine Foundation, and so many other organizations - Dayenu.
Had Martin only been the loving husband and partner of Evelyn - Dayenu.
Had Martin only been the encouraging, supportive father and indulgent grandfather - Dayenu.
Had Martin only been an extraordinarily devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church but also been exceedinly respectful of and generous to the San Bernardino Jewish community - Dayenu.
Had Martin only enriched our city and region with his sage advice and generosity - Dayenu.
Therefore, how much good and blesing has God given us thrugh the life of Martin Matich.
Our deepest condolences go mout to his entire family.##imported-begin##Rabbi Hillel Cohn##imported-end##

Dear Matich Family,
Martin was a great man and inspiration to those who knew him. When I was a young man Martin seemed larger than life yet was humble and gentle. I know he will be missed by all that had the pleasure to meet and know him. May God Bless your entire Family in your time of need.##imported-begin##Jon Preciado##imported-end##

To Stephen and the Matich Family.....I remember your Father as a very prominent figure in our community when I was at Holy Rosary Academy. He remained that to everyone in the entire State, all the way to the end of his time here with us. I hope that you will find peace in the fact that he is with the Lord now and all will be well. My sincere condolences to all of the Matich family.##imported-begin##Gigi (Norton) Pelissero##imported-end##
