Mrs Martha Ruth Rule's Obituary
Martha Ruth Rule, 96, went home to be with the Lord on November 27, 2014 in Loma Linda, CA. Originally from Van Buren, OH, Martha graduated from Van Buren High School 1936. She met and married her first husband John V. Bender and had two children Janet and James. The family moved to Highland in 1945 where they have lived since. John passed in 1967 and Martha later married Harry K. Rule in 1970.
Martha worked for the Harris Company for 20 years in customer service. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, loved to make quilts for family members, and sewed dolls’ clothing for Santa Claus Incorporated. She also volunteered at the Highland Community Food Bank for many years. Martha was a long time member of Calvary Chapel, Red Barn until her health no longer allowed her to attend. She loved her dog Jesse, but her greatest joy however was spending with her family.
She was preceded in death by both her husband and all her siblings. She is survived by her children Janet (Richard) Travis of Highland, CA and James (Lois) Bender of Yucaipa, CA. Also surviving her are her four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.
