I volunteered on the shift after Marleta at Loma Linda NICU. We often meet on the stairs and chatted for a bit. I remember how excited and happy she was when she married. She was a very sweet lady, she will be greatly missed
We are all so sad to hear about Marleta's passing. We will miss her gentle spirit, her compassion and her warm smile. She brought love and comfort to so many of our smallest patients by holding and rocking babies in our NICU. Her over 3,000 hours and 17 years of volunteer service will long be remembered by all who have worked with her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. I recall with fondness her visit and conversations with me at Holy Family Church in Jerome, AZ, many years ago. I want you all to know of my sympathy and condolences at this time of grieving the loss of such a kind person. I will offer Mass for her and her intentions on Monday, November 25. Aunt Sissy was an amazingly sweet and thoughtful lady-- I don't ever recall her saying a bad thing about anybody! Always looking for the best! She loved walking in the mountains, watching and listening to the rain, birds singing, and kids laughing! I will miss her and Buell calling to say they're on their way to Arizona, and "Where can we meet for supper?" My deepest sympathies to you, Buell-- what a perfect couple you two were! I'll be forever grateful for your precious time with our Aunt Sissy, for taking such wonderful, loving care of her, in sickness and in health... May God bless you with many consolations, and peace.
