Marilyn was my dear friend and mentor for nearly 50 years. We met when when was teaching a writing class, and I was just beginning as an author. I learned so much from her and we had A LOT of adventures going to numerous workshops, writers' days, and especially the many years at the
5-day SCBWI Writers's Conferences at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles! Such wonderful memories! Plus ALL that we shared about our lives, famiies, etc. Rest in peace, dear friend. You have earned your eternal reward.

I am Marilyn's cousin. Our mothers were sisters. Marilyn was about 6 years older than I. She seemed like a big sister to me. She wasn't old enough to really be a babysitter to me and my sister, but she was old enough to seem glamorous to a young child. When she was near, I followed her everywhere, geberally being a pest. She was always patient. As we grew older, our relationship changed, and we shared many of life's important events----college graduation, marriage, children, deaths of parents, and deaths of our husbands. When we visited we had lots of laughs, regarding family gossip and and family stories. We enjoyed each others successes. I will miss Marilyn greatly and miss our great conversations.
