Marie Sophia Millsap's Obituary
Marie Sophia Millsap, 96, resident of San Bernardino for 65 years, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011 at Plymouth Village in Redlands. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years; Verle M. Millsap. She is survived by her 4 daughters, Elphena Page of Wichita, Kansas , Judith Chavez of San Bernardino, Sharon Berry of San Bernardino, Linda Reddy of Piedmont, CA,; 3 sons, Charles, Millsap of Fontana, Jarold Millsap of Seattle, WA, Verle Millsap of San Bernardino; 20 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Marie and her husband traveled to California from Kansas in 1946 to make it their home. She was a housewife and mother, Verle M. a locomotive engineer for Santa Fe Railroad. She was a member of First Congregational Church in San Bernardino. Marie’s first love was her husband and family. She also loved working in her garden and cooking for family and friends. Everyone who knew Marie marveled at her vitality and wonderful sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by her family, and forever in our hearts. Chapel Service will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Avenue, San Bernardino. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in San Bernardino.
