MARGARET JEAN FULLERTON's Obituary
Margaret J. Fullerton, 85, passed away on Saturday, March 8. She was born on June 10, 1922 in Gary, Indiana to Edna and Frederick Paver and was raised in Evanston, Illinois. During WWII she was the only woman awarded a security clearance by the FBI, which allowed her to work on secret material in the development of radar at Packard-Bell. Margaret moved to California in 1944 where she took great pride in being a wonderful and dedicated wife, homemaker and beloved mother of three sons and two daughters. She was a vibrant, loving, patient and brilliant lady. With her immense enjoyment of reading, she was asked to join the Delphian International Society in Colton. Margaret was also an active member of the Jr. Women’s Club, the United Methodist Church in Colton and enjoyed helping those less fortunate by volunteering for Santa Claus, Inc. and the National Charity League is San Bernardino. Margaret is survived by her husband Robert V. Fullerton; three sisters, Violet Koppensteiner, Edna Paver, Betty Lovelace; brother Ray Paver; her children from her previous marriage to Dr. D.L. Van Voorhis: Ted Van Voorhis of Upland, Ron Van Voorhis of Sacramento, Gayle (Van Voorhis) Gibbons of Colorado, Bruce Van Voorhis of Colton and Melissa (Van Voorhis) Kinsey of Loma Linda; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Margaret will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A public viewing and service to honor Margaret will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2008. Chapel service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 both at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino. Interment will follow at Montecito Memorial Park, Colton.
