Mabel was born in Springfield, Missouri and was a resident of San Bernardino for 85 years. She passed away on January 10, 2018 at the age of 99 at her home in San Bernardino. Our mother met, fell in love and married her husband Ge Read Obituary
Aunt Mabel was a favorite aunt. I have many wonderful memories with her and Uncle Gene. Always a puzzle to work on, ice cream with their dog, Poco, and lots of love. Even though I had not seen her in a few years her loss brings me great sadness.
I just learned of my aunts passing. My Aunt Mabel was a favorite aunt and have wonderful memories of her and my Uncle Gene. Eating ice cream with their dog Poco, cooking, and i always looked forward to visiting them. Her smile lit up a room and even though I had lost contact the last few years, I am deeply saddened at her passing.

It's a true loss to the world to lose Mabel. She always had a sweet smile, and caring outlook on the world. We were so fortunate to have her as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and she always found fun things for us to do. She was so active in the community even up to the end, she will be missed a great deal. She and my mother and a few other ladies played bridge every week for 36 years, until some fell by the wayside.
She and Gene helped my folks when they could no longer drive and do things they wanted to do. We miss Gene too. They were good friends.
We visited her before the 55th PHS Class Reunion a few years ago and took her out to lunch. Ken was very impressed with her spirit.
We know you will miss her but know you are not alone. We were all lucky to have her for 99 years!
Mabel, you will be missed but will inspire us to be cheerful and loving.
