LOUIS ANTHONY COSSAVELLA's Obituary
LOUIS A. COSSAVELLA, age 84, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2008. A native of the Bronx, New York City, NY, Lou had lived in San Bernardino since 1960.
He retired from San Bernardino City Unified School District as a Heavy Equipment Operator after 25 years of service.
His beloved wife of 50 years Dorothy who died September 17, 2004 precedes him in death. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and is survived by his two sons, John of Reno, NV and Chris of San Anselmo, CA.
He was a sergeant in the Army Air Corps during WWII serving in the Pacific and Philippine Liberation earning 5 Combat Stars.
He was a Eucharistic Minister and President of St. Vincent de Paul at Our Lady of Assumption Church and has been a member of St. Adelaide Catholic Church in Highland since 1982. Lou loved St. Adelaide Church.
An active member of the American Legion, he was the Past Commander of Devore Post 700, Past Commander of 25th District and most recently a member of the Rialto Post 422. He was also the Past State Vice President of the Past Commander’s Club.
He was the Past Grande Cheminot and Past Chef de Gare Voiture 36 of th 40 + 8 association.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at St. Adelaide Catholic Church, 27457 Baseline, Highland, CA.
Interment will follow at Montecito Memorial Park, Colton.
