Lorraine (Lori) Clara Rucks' Obituary
Lorraine (Lori) Clara Rucks (Hanson) died peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 9, 2016 in Highland, California at the age of 84.
Lorraine is survived by her three children, Susan Kindschy, (Lowell) of Santa Ynez, CA; Jeffrey Rucks (Denise) of Parker, CO; Cynthia Campbell (Gregory) of Trabuco Canyon, CA; one sister, Nila Katsaros (Gene) of Mesquite, NV; 9 Granchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Rucks, Grandson, Joseph Campbell and Great Grandson, Skylar Kindschy.
Lorraine was born on August 18, 1931 in Arpin, Wisconsin to Marvin and Caroline Hanson. She graduated from High School in 1949 and married the love of her life, Ralph Rucks on September 10, 1949. She followed her husband to France, Travis AFB and settled in San Bernardino in 1967 where she lived till her death.
Lorraine was an active and dedicated member of Messiah Lutheran Church where she made many banners, was active with Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, both district and local and was known for always having something for the carolers at Christmas.
Lorraine loved her family and lived to celebrate Christmas with them and that was the highlight of the year for the whole family. We will miss her creative gifts, mounds of food, her special pies for her son-in-law’s and her hugs and kisses. She always had smile and loved everyone, but especially her family.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m, Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA. A funeral is scheduled for Friday, April 22, at 1:00 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7070 Palm Ave., Highland with Pastor John Juedes officiating. A reception will be held at the church following the graveside.
