Mrs Lorna Jean Royse's Obituary
On June 12, 2013 our mother passed away peacefully with her children by her side. Everyone who knew her felt like they were a member of her family or her dearest friend.
Lorna was known for her big heart and willingness to help out whenever someone was in need from the simplest task to hours of labor helping put on a spread for a luncheon.
Her favorite activities were planning family dinners, reading, traveling, lunch with her Red Hat friends, and meeting her closest friends at McDonald’s nearly every morning for coffee. Whenever I was coming over for a visit, I was instructed to bring a “senior coffee with two creams.”
Our mother had a serious side as well. The day that President Kennedy was assassinated, my mother left a message in the school office for me to go home right after school and watch the news because something happened and she wanted me to know about it.
Up until the day before she passed away, Lorna was still showing her witty side. My brother told mom she better not party after he left to which she replied, “I think my partying days are over.”
We are going to miss our mother especially every holiday when we meet for our traditional holiday meal.
Farewell Mom, you will be in our hearts always.
Love,
Rick Scarsella, Tina Scarsella, Steve Scarsella, and Bill Royse
Lorna was a lifetime resident or Rialto and worked in accounting her whole career. She was preceded in death by her husband Vern. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Stephanie and Erik.
Burial will be private.
