LORNA LOUISE LEI LUSK's Obituary
Lorna Louise Lei (Moniz) Lusk, 65, of San Bernardino, California passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, California. Lorna was born on April 9, 1943 in Wailuku, Maui to Lionel and Ellen Moniz. She attended and graduated from St. Anthony School in Wailuku. She met her husband of 40 years, Bill Lusk at her apartment complex after being stung by a bee. Bill helped tend to her wounds and they soon married. Lorna was an accomplished artist and crafter. Her talent resulted in endless requests from family, friends and strangers to help with decorating and art projects. Her real love was reserved however, for her family and friends. She and her husband of 40 years, Bill raised two children, Leilani Keidel (Mike) of Palmdale, California and Larry (Meghan) of Beaumont, California. Lorna loved family gatherings (for any or no particular reason) and trips, particularly to Hawaii (Maui). She never lost her love for Maui and shared that love with family and friends. However, perhaps her strongest love was reserved for her granddaughter, Hailey Keidel. Hailey’s visits for cooking, crafts and projects with Tutu and swimming with Papa and Tutu were some of Lorna’s greatest moments. Lorna was active in Girl Scouts and several community oriented groups during her lifetime. Her contributions to others were many. She was a loyal friend. Lorna is survived by her husband Bill, her daughter Leilani, son-in-law Mike, granddaughter Hailey, son Larry, daughter-in-law Meghan, sister Geraldine Kerrigan of Kahualui, Maui and brother Ronald Moniz or Rivera, Arizona. Her family wishes Lorna a warm Aloha. Services will be private. Bobbitt Memorial Chapel are handling arrangements.
