Mrs Lillie Letha Merrett's Obituary
Lillie Letha Merrett
Lillie was born in Naylor, MO, on February 1, 1929, and peacefully passed away at her home from renal failure, on February 13, 2011. She took her last breath with her family at her side and immediately took her next breath in the presence of her Lord in glory. She spent her childhood years in MO and married James Eugene Merrett on February 21, 1947. She moved to MI in 1948, where she taught school and then moved to Southern California in 1960, where she and Jim worked together in the construction industry for over 40 years.
She enjoyed worshipping at Immanuel Baptist Church for 50 years. Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed deep sea fishing, camping, traveling and cruising throughout the years. Most of all, she loved time spent with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family, especially Jim, her dedicated and faithful husband of 64 years.
She leaves behind four children: Dennis Merrett, Janette (LeRoy) Nowlin, Virgil Merrett, and Pamela (Peter) Younkman; 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, Gerald Atwell of OK and Vadis Atwell of LA.
Lillie would want you to know that she lived a good life and was not afraid to die. We know that it is well with her soul.
