LILLA MAY SJOSTRAND's Obituary
Lilla May Sjostrand 88, Passed away on May 8, 2008 in San Bernardino. Lilla was a San Bernardino resident for over 63 years. Lilla was the daughter of a State Senator. Lilla graduated from Plymouth High School in New Hampshire then continued her education, graduating from Plymouth Teachers’ College where she was president of her sorority. She moved to San Bernardino in 1948 to where she taught for over 37 years. Before its' closing, Lilla was the principal of Mitchell Elementary School. Lilla served time as president of the Retired Teachers’ Association. Of all her extensive world travels, she loved Hawaii best. Lilla was preceded in death by: her stepdaughter Rita Sjostrand-Denson; her first husband, James Adams of Caldwell, NJ and sister Mildred Shepard of Goffstown, NH, Brother Harold Mitchell of Thornton, NH and Ruth Long of Center Ossipee, NH.
Survivors include: Her husband, George Sjostrand; grandchildren, Maggie (Richard) Limbaugh and Richard Michael (Bianca) Denson; great grandchildren, Gabriel and Griffith Limbaugh; Siblings, Lester Mitchell of Campton, NH, Arlene Horton of Chula Vista, CA and Alice Chapman of Brattleboro, VT; nieces and nephews, John Chapman and Nancy Sprague of Brattleboro, VT, Stanly Shepard of Laconia, NH, Virginia Knoettner of Bedford NH, David Ferro of South Deerfield, MA, Patricia Legler, Chula Vista, CA Douglass Ferro, Beaver Creek, OR, Dorothy Anderson of Thorton, NH, Martha Rice, of Yakama, WA, Sarah Sutherland of Plymouth, NH, Russell Loring of Union, NH Helen Drew of Arcata, CA and their families
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the St.Paul United Methodist Church 785 N Arrowhead Ave., San Bernardino, CA with a private interment to follow.
