Lester Edward Freda's Obituary
Lester Edward Freda, 71, a resident of San Bernardino for 49 years, passed away Friday November 27, 2009. He was a Maintenance Machinist for 50 years for Edison and the state of California.
A member of the Operating Engineers of Southern California and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; he also coached girls softball for many years and was an active member of St. Adelaide’s Catholic Church.
Lester is survived by his wife of ten years, Sonia; and the mother of his daughters Barbara; three daughters, Vanessa Hernandez and husband David of Highland, Wendy Diaz and husband Michael of Hemet and Laura Hanss and husband Helmut of Aubrey TX; 6 grandchildren Amanda Freda, Erica Hernandez, (triplets) Michaela, Maddie and Anthony Diaz, and Christopher Hanss; 1 step-daughter Jemela Reyes; his sister Mary Catherine Gracie of husband bill of New Jersey and two nephews Tom Gracie of Washington and Bill Gracie of New Jersey.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA 92404. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Adelaide Catholic Church, 27457 Baseline, Highland, CA 92346. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside CA 92518 at Staging Area #1.
