I was privileged to know Mr Cihocki in the mid-1960s as a member of his Golden Valley Jr High orchestra. As the years have passed, I have often thought of him, and my awe of his ability and dedication in teaching music appreciation to young people has only grown. How he endured the day after day godawful music we produced and our frequent inattentiveness and yet still maintained his equanimity, patience, and enthusiasm has inspired me. His was a life exceptionally well lived. I am proud to have known him. I hope to meet again and together make music with the angels.
