LENKE FOGASSY's Obituary
Lenke Fogassy came into this world on March 20th , 1920 in Budapest, Hungary and was a 48 year resident of San Bernardino, CA. She entered into eternal life on July 19, 2006, at The Springs Retirement Community, in Oceanside, CA. Lenke emigrated with her husband and six children from Budapest, Hungary in 1956. They arrived in San Bernardino, CA in January 1957. She gave birth to her youngest daughter, Mary Magdalene Fogassy in 1960. She is preceded in death by her husband Karoly; two daughters, Juditka and Idiko and grandson Aaron Fogassy. Lenke was a devoted housewife and mother raising seven children and often helped raise some of her grandchildren. After the death of her husband 20 years ago, Lenke turned her focus and devotion to loving the Lord. She spent much of her time in prayer and telling others of His love and the love of His Mother. Her efforts reached across the globe to include many third world countries. She is also survived by many friends, who shared her faith and love for the Lord and His Mother and celebrated together with her in worship at various local catholic churches: St. Bernardine Hospital Chapel; Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral and Our Lady of the Assumption Church, all of San Bernardino. After moving to Oceanside in 2005 she continued to live her faith as a living witness to those around her. She will be remembered, loved and missed for her deep faith and commitment to keeping His love alive and spreading the Word. But mostly, she will be missed for her dedication to her family as a devoted mother who knew no bounds in her sacrifice and suffering to show her love to others. The surviving children are Marie Vredenburg, Cheyenne WY, Karoly C. Fogassy, Seattle, WA, Sister Judith Fogassy, SDSH Budapest, Hungary, Laszlo Fogassy, San Bernardino, CA Zoltan Fogassy, Oceanside, CA and Mary Magdalene Spinnato, Moville, IA. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Her family awaits with joyful hope for a reunion with her once again in the New Kingdom. Viewing will be held at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA, Sunday July, 23rd 2006 from 2~5 pm with a Rosary at 5:00 pm Services will be held Monday July 24th 2006 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church 796 W. 48th Street in San Bernardino at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery
