Mr. Leland H. Pollock's Obituary
Retired U.S. Marine Corps CWO III, Leland H. Pollock, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 at his home. He was a veteran of WWII with 22 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his son John Pollock, daughter Jill Pollock, brother Ray Pollock, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was born in Crawford County Kansas and raised in Dallas Texas where he joined the Marine Corp in 1939. He met his wife Lieutenant Eloise Rose Buell while they were both stationed in San Diego and married in 1944. Beloved wife, Eloise B. Pollock passed away in 1998 at the age of 90.
After retiring from the Marine Corp, they moved from Fallbrook California to Redlands California in 1965 where he worked for Southern Pacific Railroad retiring in 1981.
After “really” retiring, Lee enjoyed gardening, Marine Corp reunions, swimming at the YMCA and actively serving in his church. He cherished his time with his family and friends but he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His love of country and dedication to service followed him throughout his full life. He will be sorely missed….Semper Fi, Dad.
