Lazarus Larry Wolk's Obituary
Lazarus Larry Wolk, age 92, passed away peacefully. He resided in Highland since 1969. He is reunited with his wife Evelyn, of blessed memory. He leaves behind his sons Keith (Yelena) of Altamonte Springs Fl., Kevin (Lolly ) of San Bernardino, Kerry (Lisa) of Highland ; Grandchildren Israel (Nancy), David (Janeth), Christopher, Jordaniel, Alyssa and great grandchildren, Adrian and Katherine.
He had a long and productive life. He was born on Oct. 12, 1923 to Gerson and Celia Wolk in Brooklyn, NY. He studied clarinet at Juilliard School of Music. He enlisted and fought in World War II as a radio / nose gunner of B-24 bombers and flew 53 combat missions out of Italy where he earned a medal with 5 oak leaf clusters. After the war, he met and married Evelyn Diner. They were married for 53 years. He ended his military career as a chief master sergeant and worked for the government as a civilian employee retiring at the GS-14 level.
His employment included Photographer, Movie Cameraman, Owner/Operator of ReelAFilm Studios, Director/Producer for the 1352nd Combat Camera Squadron at Norton AFB San Bernardino, CA. He enjoyed playing in a band, singing, dancing and helping people however he could. His life force will be missed. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Home of Eternity Cemetery, 801 N. Sierra Way, San Bernardino.
