Lawrence Richard Nunes' Obituary
Lawrence Richard Nunes was born in Fresno, CA on January 14th, 1954 and passed on Friday, June 24th, 2016 in Highland, CA.
Lawrence was known to all by his middle name, Richard. He graduated from Laton High School, where he was a Class President and star athlete in multiple sports such as: Wrestling, Football and Track and Field. Soon after graduating, he received a full academic scholarship to Fresno Pacific College.
Since the age of 19, Richard worked as a Power Lineman for multiple utility companies such as: PG&E, PP&L and Southern California Edison. A life-long member of the IBEW, he has achieved multiple awards and commendations, eventually earning his position as a Field Supervisor for Southern California Edison.
Richard lived by the phrase, “Work Hard, Play Harder.” He enjoyed work very much, but he enjoyed his time with his family more, most of all, with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Sharon, and was always ready for the next big adventure. Richard will always be remembered by his calming demeanor, his smile and his infectious laugh.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, of 42 years, his sons Kevin and Kristopher, wife Tawyna and his grandchildren Connor and Alexis, his parents Frank and Alice Nunes, his brother, Doug, and his sons Justin and Joshua, and mother-in-law Irene Borba.
