Mrs Kim Lang Callahan's Obituary
Kim Lang Callahan, 74, of Highland, California, joined her loving husband, Michael, in eternal life on March 3, 2016.
Originally from Vietnam, Kim lived in Highland for over 38 years. She married Michael in 1968 and together they raised two daughters, Elizabeth (Betty) and Lisa. She loved to travel having gone to Australia, France and back to her home country, Vietnam, all more than once. Back in the day, she would sew, making most of the girls’ clothes and hemming all of her pants. She had a passion for dancing, Cha-Cha and Fox Trot. Kim would spend hours taking care of her garden or going shopping because there was a good sale. When feeling lucky, she enjoyed going to Morongo Casino or buying that “winning” lottery ticket. Her biggest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She spent countless hours watching tennis, track and cross country. If not dining with family, you could find her at Rosa Maria’s getting the Garbage Burrito, no cheese. And during the holidays, she was known for making her famous egg rolls.
She is survived by her children Betty (Joe) Hughes, and Lisa (Michael) Crader. Also surviving her are her grandchildren Shane (Tawny) Callahan, Jonathan Hughes, Stormi Vice, Zachary Hutchins, David Hughes, Ryan Hutchins, Nicolette Crader, and Hana Crader, and her great-grandchildren Zairek Callahan and Saige Winters. Graveside services will be 10:45 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2016 at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA.
