Mrs Katherine K Smith's Obituary
Katherine K. Smith, 97, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Redlands Community Hospital. Katherine was born on December 6, 1920 in Toronto, Canada to Margaret Calder Reid and Louis Watt Reid and moved to Elmhurst, Illinois as a young child and then to Alford, Scotland when she was a teenager. There she met her husband, McCombie Smith. In 1948 she and her family returned to the United States settling in San Bernardino and eventually opening Scotty’s Bakery. She was active in the San Bernardino Women’s Club for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, McCombie Smith and daughter, Kathleen Hagey. She is survived by daughter Phyllis Hough, son Donald Smith (Robin), six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 12, 2018, 11 a.m. at Montecito Memorial Park, South Waterman at Barton Road, Colton, CA 92324.
