Family, I just found out about Kathy's passing and what a blow. I met her when she first started teaching at Rio Vista Elementary School back in the 70's. She was a little taller than her students which we both would laugh about. She and I were about the same height. Kathy was a loving person who loved to laugh and share some crazy stories. The staff and community loved her dedication to the students. She encouraged her parents to come to her class and get involved in their child's education. She was an amazing person. Kathy touched a lot of young lives and her teachings will live through them. Please know that Katherine "shorty" will never be forgotten. She and I formed a great friendship at Rio Vista and I will always remember her. RIP my dear friend.
