JOSEPHINE M. SUBJECT's Obituary
Josephine M. Subject, 93, passed away on January 28, 2009 in Calistoga, CA, where she moved to be with her family. Josephine lived an interesting life. Her father John D. Mitchell was a well know author of several books about mining tales of the Southwest. While mining in Mexico he met Jo’s mother, Josefina Limon. They married and three of their children were born in Mexico. Jo was born in 1916 in Ajo, AZ. Jo married Richard C. Tucker in 1936. They were married 17 years and had two sons. Jo was always known for her baking and cooking skills. She married her second husband Dr. Henry Subject in 1954 in San Bernardino. He was the love of her life and she helped him in his dental practice. They traveled to Europe and while in Germany he gave a dental seminar in English and German and she translated into Spanish. They spent many happy years together before he passed away in 1995. A former resident of Highland, Jo is survived by her 2 sons: Thomas (Rita) Tucker and Richard Tucker, step son: Chuck Subject (Joy), step daughter: Marilee Moore, and sister Hope Fulkerson, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Wednesday February 4, 2009 at 11:00AM at Mt. View Cemetery 570 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino.
