Joseph Ambrose Rea's Obituary
Joseph Ambrose Rea
December, 25, 1923-July 8, 2017
Joseph Rea passed away peacefully on July 8, 2017 at the age of 93 in Redlands, California. Joe was born in Oklahoma and grew up there during the Great Depression but spent his adult years in many cities as he was stationed in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. during his 30 years of service as a U.S. Air Force pilot. After retiring from the military, Joe had a successful career as an aerospace engineer in Southern California, where he raised his family. In life, Joe was a devoted member of his church and an active tennis player, bike rider, and skier. Up until his passing, he fervently enjoyed his daily outings to 24 Hour Fitness. Joe was a loyal husband and dedicated father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his wife Gabriele, daughters Robin and Stephanie, grand-daughter Karleigh, and sister Janet.
Dad, we miss you and love you so much. You were a caring and sensitive individual and we thank you for all you provided and the inspiring role model you set for us. We know there is a ski resort in heaven and imagine that you will be making many runs down Mambo.
A Committal ceremony will be held at Riverside National Cemetery, with full military honors, on August 7, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. For directions and details, please reference www.bobbittchapel.com. All are welcome. Donations in his memory are appreciated to: Redlands Church of Christ, 1000 Roosevelt Road, Redlands, CA 92374.
