John was more than just the man who married my sister, he was (as he was often heard saying about people he liked) "good people". John defined the values of a big hearted man. He would always, always consider the good in a person first and I never met a person who didn't respect or admire him. For me having grown up with John made my life a little bit richer - he will be missed...

I have had the privilage of knowing John for almost 40 years and I can attest that there was no more of a caring and welcomeing person than John.
