JOHN RICHARD ROMIG JR.'s Obituary
John Richard Romig Jr. was born in Victorville, CA on November 20, 1960. His arrival was greatly anticipated by his future parents. He attended Trapp Elementary, Dunn Jr. High and Eisenhower High School in Rialto CA, graduating with the class of 1979. He later attended San Bernardino Valley College. While in High School he was very active in the music program, and was a member of the ‘Eisenhower a Cappella Choir & Madrigal Singers’ for three years. John participated in many events with the music department including the yearly December "Disneyland Candlelight Processional". He was also a soloist in some of the choir’s concerts. John was very active in the Drama Department at Eisenhower High School, Junior University in San Bernardino and various productions at the Sturges Auditorium and the California Theatre. John was a natural and gifted actor that loved to laugh and make others laugh. For John the world TRULY was a stage, and he always loved to be ‘center stage’. John worked for a time at Knott’s Berry Farm, where he led tours thru the Haunted Shack and participated in various shows. He worked for Merv Griffin at the Givenchy Spa in Palm Springs and later was a manager at the Renaissance Esmeralda Spa at Indian Wells, CA.During his adult life John lived in Rialto, Redlands and Palm Springs, CA. John’s other great love was his antique phonograph collection, into which he poured his time, heart and soul. For a time he operated an antique phonograph repair business. He was later was employed with a travel agency which allowed him to travel the world. John was preceded in death by his father John Richard Romig Sr. He is survived by his Mother Mary E. Romig, and long time friend Jon M. Schwab, his puppy Charlie, and cousins Joyce Barne, GA, Jamie Michel, FL, Bette Moore, NJ and Emma Jean McKinley, FL, as well as many friends and acquaintances. John is, and always will be greatly loved and missed by those of us who have had the privilege to know him and had his love in return. Services will be held for John on Sunday Dec. 9th at 3pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 1900 North ‘D’ Street, San Bernardino, CA 92405. All are welcome and invited to attend and remember John and his life with us. Services are being entrusted to Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA 92404
