John George Levi Matteson's Obituary
John George Levi (Johnny) Matteson, 80, of Grand Terrace, CA, left this world to be joined with his savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 6, 2018. John was a longtime resident and had deep roots in the community. His Great Grandfather being one of Grand Terrace’s founders.
John is survived by his two daughters Lori (Dan) Flanders and Shaun (Bryan) Burnette of Oregon. Also, his grandchildren who he was very proud of, Austin Smith, Chelsea Clark, Seth Flanders, Jacob Burnette, Peyton Burnette and great granddaughter Danelle Clark. All of them had a great amount of love and respect for their Papa John, the coolest man they ever knew. He is also survived by his sister Donna McFarland and his brother, Byron. John is also survived by his two stepchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and some very dear friends. John is preceded in death by his parents, Martha Boettcher Matteson and Floyd Matteson, his brothers, Bill, Harvey, Luke, and Maurice. John was a member of the Eagles for more than twenty-five years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in memory of John. He was a generous and loyal supporter of St. Jude’s.
