JOHN "JACK" JOSEPH MC MAHON's Obituary
Jack McMahon’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church at 1:30 PM with a reception immediately following.
Jack was born in Falls City, Nebraska on November 21st, 1930. He was one of three children born to Cecil and Hazel McMahon and he studied at the University of Nebraska. Jack was a member of Phi Delta Theta and played football for the Cornhuskers.
He served in Germany during the Korean War as a Tech. Sgt. Surgical Tech. in the Air Force. Jack was a resident of San Bernardino for 54 years, married to his loving wife Ann for 50 joyful years until her passing in 2003.
Jack died on August 22, 2009 and is survived by his companion, Yvette Miller, whom he adored, along with his five children, their spouses & children and one great grandchild. (Jack McMahon & wife Amy, son Patrick; Sue &Mike Elliott, daughter Kelsey; Jan & Bill Cunningham, son Sean; Mike & Evonne McMahon, daughter Alivia; and Brad & Cindy McMahon, sons Kenneth, Loren, Carter, Phillip, Trad and granddaughter, Jadyn).
Jack lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed golf, hiking, reading and his extensive family and close friends. He will be remembered for his wonderful smile, sense of humor, and his incredible wisdom and generosity. It was not uncommon for Jack to anonymously help a friend or provide guidance and support to loved ones. He was also recognized as a life teacher where his “living by example” was an inspiration to many.
Jack was the Branch Manager for Simon Levi, a Southern CA. based liquor distributorship, for over 25 years. Subsequent to his Liquor Industry career, Jack ran the sales division for the local Zieman Trailer organization. He was a past President of the Arrowhead Country Club and an active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Parish.
Jack leaves with us his incredible insight that was evident up to the very end. He will be remembered for his strength of character and determination that have helped us all get through his illness. He will be truly missed by all that had the pleasure of being included in his circle of family, friends and casual acquaintances.
