JOHN C. HLUBIK's Obituary
John was a resident of San Bernardino, where he married Era Mae and raised his family. He was born in Dallas, TX, and moved to California as a youth, where he graduated from San Bernardino High School. He retired from the Santa Fe Rail Road in 1979 after nearly 40 years service._ John was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church; he was known to many of his friends as Johnny. He contributed generously to his community and was a very involved Boy Scout leader, helping his sons through the ranks and teaching life skills. His many hobbies included gardening, upholstery, wood working, construction, camping, fishing and especially visiting his many friends and close relations...regularly sharing and delivering the bounty of his garden, the fish he smoked and the pies that Era baked. Although overcome by dementia this year he always greeted his visitors with a smile. John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Era Mae Hlubik; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Lynda Hlubik of Riverside, Steve and Jan Hlubik of Davis; grandchildren, Kristin and Michael. He will be greatly missed and remain in our memories forever with lasting love. Viewing will occur Thurs. evening 5-6 P.M. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA, with Funeral Services at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Bobbitt's. Interment to follow at Montecito Memorial Park, Colton, CA.
