John Lloyd Carlson's Obituary
John L. Carlson was a well-known barber in Fontana, San Bernardino, and Grand Terrace for over 50 years. He made many friends and lifelong clients. John also was an electrician at Kaiser Steel in Fontana and United States Air Force Veteran. He loved the lifelong fellowship with Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge. He always provided for his family and supported their faith and education through example and unconditional love. John worked six plus days a week but Sunday was church and family day; going to the beach, park, having pool parties, and visiting with relatives.
John married Helen M. Scarsella (Dolly) in 1959, loved her with all his heart, and embraced her large Italian family, having been an only child. He lovingly called her “My Elena”. John and Helen had three children: Mary Louise, Caroline Jean, and John (Jack) Patrick. He had eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. John was very proud of his grandchildren’s accomplishments and loved hearing them tell of their successes in careers and life.
John passed away on August 19th, 2024 comfortably at his home of four years, Villas at San Bernardino with family present.
The Carlson’s appreciate the love and support received from family and friends.
