JoAnn Jean "Jody" Maples' Obituary
JoAnn Jean (Jody) Maples passed away August 8, 2007, at Saint Bernadine’s Medical Center at the age of 67. She was born in Carlinville, Illinois, on December 22, 1939, to Richard and Thelma Ditto. She trained as a nurse and was the long-time office manager for her husband’s medical practice. She moved to San Bernardino in 1974. Jody was active for more than 15 years in the Assistance League of San Bernardino, and currently Vice Chair of Les Confreres. She was involved in the Headdress Ball for many years, both as a model and a coordinator. She was a Board Member and Chair of the Ethics Committee for the Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties. She was a past President of Casa Niños and a life time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Charles M. (Monty) Maples; her three children: Tamma Ann Maples, Dr. Charles Montell Maples, Jr. (and his wife, Dr. Tracy Maples), and Dr. Richard Michael Maples (and his wife, Dr. Jen Maples); and her three grandchildren: Emily Jean Maples, Michael Ryan Maples, and Christopher Richard Maples. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2007, at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Baptist Church, 28355 Baseline Street, Highland, CA, 92346. A reception will be held following the service at Arrowhead Country Club. The family is requesting that you bring a copy of your favorite photo of Jody and bring it to the service or reception for a memory board. You may also deliver them beforehand to the Bobbitt Chapel.
