Ms Jennie Lucy Beamon's Obituary
Jennie Lucy Beamon, 61, of San Bernardino went to heaven on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Jennie was born to the later Mary Beamon on January 31, 1953, in Los Angeles, California. In high school, she took electives in nursing and then volunteered in local hospitals. She graduated from Compton High School in 1971 and attended California State University, Long Beach in 1972 for three years; she married sometime after and raised her two girls.
Jennie was a high school Special Education Teacher's Aide for 35 years until her retirement in 2000. She was passionate about her job and the students she worked with. She enjoyed arts and crafts, decorating, painting, drawing, collecting Barbie Dolls, travelling, reading, spending time with her family and pets and listening to many different genres of music. Some of her many passions were jewelry, cooking and baking.
Those who remember her said she was a joy to be around and brought laughter to the work place and to many people's lives. She was a wonderful, reliable, generous, loving and caring person; so much so that she earned the nickname "Nurse Good Heart". Her caring did not stop with people, she had a profound love for all animals as well as her own pets (her other babies). Her very presence was warm, inviting and brought comfort, she was a 'mother to all'. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. You could never forget her words of wisdom, advice or her smile. Jennie's sense of humor as well as her laughter cheered up the most disheartened person.
Her strength and courage was an inspiration.
Jennie is survived by her two daughters Antonia and Julian Cooke of San Bernardino and her siblings, Cynthia Johnson, Vivian Johnson and Winfred Charles Beamon.
