JEAN HELEN JEFFERY's Obituary
Jean Helen Jeffery, 89, a fourth generation Californian, went home to be with the Lord August 31st, 2007 in Long Beach, CA. Jean graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1935, and attained an Associates Degree at Valley College were she was a charter member of Valkyries. She was co-owner of Howard-Jeffery Insurance agency for 25 years, which she co-owned with her father William P. Howard who was a city councilman. She was a lifetime member and past president of the P.T.A. for Pacific High School in San Bernardino. She was a member of Calvary Baptist church for over 30 years. She moved to Long Beach in 1981 to be closer to her family and was a PEO Chapter Member (Chapter F. J.) and an Associate and Docent at Rancho Los Alamitos of Long Beach and was most recently a member of staff at Long Beach Main Library until the age of 82. Jean is survived by her eldest daughter, Sally Tanner-Smock (Paul) of Long Beach, CA and her children Trisha Tanner Morin (Bob) of San Juan Capistrano, CA; Jeffery Tanner (Amy) of Irvine, CA; and her youngest daughter Peggy Van Herpen (Glenn) of Idyllwild, CA and her children; William Van Herpen (Denise) of Ladera Ranch, CA; Monica Long (Rob) of Dallas, GA; Michael Van Herpen of Orange, CA; Denise Anne Van Herpen of Idyllwild, CA and nine great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8th 2007 at Mountain View Cemetery, 570 E. Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92404.
