Jean Margaret Brummeler Moloney's Obituary
Jean Margaret Brummeler Moloney, died 9 July 2008 at Redlands, CA. She was born 18 November 1921 in Grand Rapids, MI to Adrian Anthony Brummeler and Elizabeth DeWeert, both of Dutch descent. The Brummeler family moved to Riverside, CA in 1926. Jean met the love of her life, Edmond Patrick Moloney, Jr. on a blind date and they were married 3 Feb 1950 in Riverside. They soon became proud parents of 3 sons. The family moved from Riverside to San Bernardino in 1957 and lived in there in the same house for over 40 years. Jean moved to Mission Commons Senior Living in Redlands in 2003 and remained there until her death.
Jean was an avid book reader and this lead to her volunteering for The Friends of the Library organization with San Bernardino Public Library beginning in 1985. Jean was the coordinator of the Friends Books Sales until 2003. She continued to serve on the Friends of the Library Board of Directors until her death.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ada Brummeler Jones; her granddaughter, Jennifer Moloney; her brother, Edwin Brummeler; and her beloved husband, Edmond.
Jean is survived by 3 sons; Patrick and his wife Shoko of Sausalito, CA; Gregory of San Francisco, CA; and Kevin and his wife Victoria of Sparks, NV. Jean is also survived by two granddaughters; Christina Moloney of Sausalito, CA and Kamryn Moloney of Sparks, NV.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no funeral and her ashes will be scattered by her family in the ocean off the coast of Kona, HI, where her husband’s ashes were scattered eight years ago.
