James Apaka Williams' Obituary
James Apaka Williams, 52, of San Bernardino, CA passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at home.
He is survived by his parents, James V. and LaVauna Williams of Highland, his life partner, Colleen Mawas, stepson, John Ahrns of Corona, brother, Jeff (Owen) Williams of Highland, 2 nephews, Jake Tedesco of Redondo Beach and John Tedesco of Santa Barbara.
James was born July 29, 1958 in Honolulu, Territory of Hawai’i. As a young boy the family moved to San Bernardino where James started school. In 1963, James’ father was transferred by USAF back to HI and the family lived there until his father’s retirement 1967. They then moved to Downey and later Bellflower where James graduated from high school in 1976. During his high school days James and his friends had a passion for drag racing at the Orange County Speedway where they won several trophies.
James always had a love for art, music and finish carpentry where he built many fine pieces that still stand the test of time. James had a love and passion for the following program where a donation can be made in his honor in lieu of flowers to the United Organ Transplant Association 3405 Arlington Ave. Riverside, CA 92506.
Please attend James’ funeral in casual Hawaiian wear. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Immanuel Baptist Church 28355 Baseline, Highland, CA with interment to follow at Montecito Memorial Park, Colton, CA.
