JAMES MICHAEL SALMON's Obituary
James Michael Salmon, 47, passed away on June 4, 2008 at the City of Hope Hospital after a two-year battle with Leukemia. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born September 10, 1960 in San Bernardino, California to Thomas and Elaine Salmon. Jim had an infectious zest for life and lived it to the fullest. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him. Jim exemplified his character as dedicated, hardworking and forever optimistic. After working for Norton Air Force Base as a civil service maintenance electrician, he established his own electrical company, JMS Electric Inc., in 1986. As a result of his hard work and magnetic personality, Jim became a successful business owner, which allowed him the flexibility to pursue his passions for life. Jim especially had a passion for flying and became a proud member of AOPA, AMA and MARKS as well as the NRA. Jim also enjoyed deep-sea fishing, building model planes with his dad and brother but mostly enjoyed being with his family and friends boating in Lake Havasu. Jim will always be remembered as a loving, kind and devoted husband, father, son and friend. He will also be remembered as a generous and giving man who gave to numerous charities, including Feed the Children Foundation and The Jerry Lewis Foundation.
Jim is survived by the love of his life Brigitte of 22 years and their five beautiful children, Garret, 18; Karly, 15; James, 7 and twins, Ryan and Kaitlyn, 6. His Parents, Thomas and Elaine Salmon of San Bernardino; brothers, Tom and Pam Salmon of Florida, David and Andrea Salmon of Highland; sister, Lori (Joel) Rode; nephews, Joshua, Michael, Thomas, Travis and Kyle; nieces, Brook, Taylor and Britney; many aunts, uncles and cousins whom will all miss him dearly. Viewing will be held from 4-7 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral, 2525 N. Arrowhead Ave., San Bernardino.
