Howard Lee Girard's Obituary
Howard Lee Girard went to Heaven on July 7th, 2026 at the age of 94. Howard served with honor, valor and dignity in the Korean War. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant [T] in the United States Army from 1951 through 1954. He was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze-Silver Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal.
After his discharge from military service, he built a career with General Telephone [Verizon]; starting as a linesman and working his way up to Training Manager. He retired after forty years of exemplary service. Howard worked a second job as a Tax Preparer/ Consultant in peoples' homes. This he did for forty years as well; working diligently to provide for his family with quiet devotion for those he loved.
He will be fondly and lovingly be remembered as a provider and father who demonstrated unwavering integrity, loyalty, and steady love. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Michele Girard, grandsons, Michael and Travis Wallack, great grandson Rylee Wallack, and son in law, Shomon Joseph.
A celebration of life with military honors will be held on August 31st, 2026 at 11:00AM at Riverside National Cemetery.
