Henry Arthur Folkens' Obituary
Henry A. Folkens, 83, of Highland, California died on January 24, 2020 at St. Bernardine Medical Center.
He was born on February 18, 1936 in Stockton, IL, the son of Richard and Pearl Folkens. He married Juanita Chism on June 7, 1960 in Stockton, IL.
Henry graduated from Stockton High School in 1954 and worked on his parents farm and at Atwoods factory in Stockton until entering the U.S. Army in 1959. He received an honorable discharge in 1961 and returned to Stockton, IL to pursue a degree in electronics. He relocated his family to Streamwood, IL when he was hired by Nuclear Data, and was transferred to Highland, CA in 1974. He was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene his entire life. After he retired from work he enjoyed traveling and exploring.
Henry is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Juanita Folkens; two sons, Scott (Jennine) Folkens of San Bernardino, CA and Dale (Kim) Folkens of Highland, CA; two grandchildren, Philip Folkens and Jessica Folkens, both of Highland, CA; and one brother, David Folkens of DeWitt, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Betty Thill; and his daughter, Glynna Folkens.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 3, 2020 from 5-8 P.M. at Community Cross Church of the Nazarene, 6955 Palm Avenue, Highland, Ca. Private Military interment will be held at a later date at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Ca
